Brooklyn Nets @ Sacramento Kings Current Records: Brooklyn 6-10, Sacramento 8-8 When: Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 9 p.m. ET Where: Golden 1 Center -- Sacramento, California TV: NBC Sports California Follow: CBS Sports App Online streaming: fuboTV (Try for free. Regional restrictions may apply.) Ticket Cost: $25.00 The Nets and the Kings are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Brooklyn Nets will face off against the Sacramento Kings at 9:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Golden 1 Center. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual. The Nets are headed into this one after the oddsmakers set last week's over/under low at 214.5, but even that wound up being too high. They took a 113-98 bruising from the 76ers on Friday. The Nets' defeat came about despite a quality game from Cameron Johnson, who went 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points. Johnson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored the Kings last Friday, but the final result did not. The matchup between them and the Clippers wasn't a total blowout, but with the Kings falling 104-88 on the road it was darn close to turning into one. The contest marked Sacramento's lowest-scoring match so far this season. The Kings' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of De'Aaron Fox, who had 29 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, and Domantas Sabonis, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Fox's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 30 points. DeMar DeRozan, on the other hand, was considerably less helpful: he went 0-5 from beyond the arc. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Kings struggled to work together and finished the game with only 19 assists. They were destroyed by their opponents in that department as the Clippers posted 27. Brooklyn's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Sacramento, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. The Nets are hoping to beat the odds on Sunday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. Anyone thinking of taking them against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last four times they've played Sacramento. The Nets might still be hurting after the devastating 107-77 loss they got from the Kings when the teams last played back in April. That matchup was pretty much over by halftime, at which point the Nets were down 65-40. Sacramento is a big 8.5-point favorite against Brooklyn, according to the latest NBA odds . The oddsmakers had a good feel for the line for this one, as the game opened with the Kings as a 7.5-point favorite. The over/under is 222 points. Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was one of the year's biggest sporting events, but the outcome left much to be desired. The headliner's labored efforts had many calling the fight boring at best and suspicious at worst. Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's manager and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, pushed back against any fight-fixing claims on Wednesday. On Nov. 15, Paul vs. Tyson competed in a professional boxing bout with modified rules. Paul's inability to finish a fatigued 58-year-old Tyson had people questioning the fight's authenticity. The most prevalent instance detractors point to is when Paul opted against pursuing a knockdown after wobbling Tyson in Round 3. "People are like, 'Oh yeah, it's rigged because look at him on the pads but he didn't do this in the fight,' because someone is f---ing punching back you dumb f---s," Paul said on his brother Logan Paul's " Impaulsive " podcast on Wednesday. "People don't realize my power, and my jab and my speed and my ability, and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches, so then all of a sudden he's throwing at, literally, air." Paul added fuel to the fire of the fight-fixing allegations during his post-fight interview. Paul told reporters he "didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be hurt," agreeing that he "definitely" took his foot off the gas to "give the fans a show." On Wednesday, Paul claimed it was Tyson's elusiveness that saved him. "He was hard to hit," Paul said. "He was elusive. I was missing a lot of punches. I don't know how he gets off to the side like that... I wish he had put up a better fight so that I could've risen more and done more, and he was surviving." Sports broadcasters, alleged internet sleuths and fans have questioned the fight's legitimacy. Bidarian specifically addressed Super Bowl champion Michael Irvin's claims that a "no uppercut" clause was written into the Paul vs. Tyson contract. "The only thing that bothers me is the continued kind of narrative and people saying the fight was rigged," Bidarian told "The Ariel Helwani Show." "How would you have seen the contract to begin with that MIke Tyson couldn't throw an uppercut?" Bidarian asked. "It's beyond lunacy." Bidarian reassured the fight was legitimate, citing its regulated status as a professional bout and the high-stakes partnership with Netflix. Bidarian dismissed social media posts claiming the fight was fixed as deceptive efforts to generate viewership. "This was a regulated professional bout by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. And we were partners with Netflix, the biggest media company in the world, who's a public company," Bidarian said. "For anyone to suggest that this was in any way a rigged fight, they're either dumb or they're looking for attention." "I get it. Putting up posts [claiming] 'proof it was rigged' gets you good engagement. A lot of people comment, like and share. We're in an attention economy. People say outlandish things to bring awareness to themselves. It's a sad state of society that people want to spend their time like that." Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions -- a company founded by Paul and Bidarian -- partnered to host Paul vs. Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On April 29, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations approved the fighters' request to sanction the fight professionally despite concerns about the 31-year age gap between athletes. The commission approved the sanctioning, but included a modified rulset of 14-ounce gloves (4 ounces bigger than a standard heavyweight bout) as well as the fight being eight, two-minute rounds. Tyson revealed post-fight that he "almost died" in June after an ulcer flare-up delayed the original date for the fight in July.Ken Griffin is arguably one of the most successful investors of all time. He made a name for himself when he shorted stocks just ahead of the 1987 market crash that came to be known as "Black Monday." His profits last year topped $7 billion as his returns of roughly 15% outpaced many of his peers. That result pales in comparison to his performance in 2022, though, when Citadel became "the most successful hedge fund ever," according to CNN, generating profits of $16 billion, the "largest annual windfall on record." Griffin has been outspoken about the potential for generative AI . "This branch of AI will be game-changing for the economy," he said, "because it will take an enormous amount of work that's done today by people and do it in a distinctly different, highly automated, highly efficient way." These weren't just empty words. At the end of last year, Griffin's top five individual stock holdings were all AI companies. It's therefore worth noting that Griffin has sold more than half his stake in AI stock Broadcom ( AVGO 0.18% ) , and is pouring funds into another AI stock-split stock instead. Broadcom has been on fire Broadcom is one of the gatekeepers in the AI ecosystem . The company provides a wide range of products used in the cable, mobile, broadband, and data center industries. It reports that "99% of all internet traffic crosses through some type of Broadcom technology," making it a key provider of the tech necessary to facilitate AI. In its fiscal third quarter, which ended Aug. 4, Broadcom's revenue grew 47% year over year to $13.1 billion, while its adjusted earnings per share (EPS) increased 18% to $1.24. Management expects its growth streak to continue, and boosted its full-year revenue forecast to $51.5 billion, which would equate to growth of 44%. Those results help illustrate why Broadcom stock is up 64% over the past year and 188% over the past three years (at the time of this writing). The stock has risen so much, in fact, that management instituted a 10-for-1 stock split that was completed on July 15. Wall Street is nearly unanimous in its opinion of Broadcom. Of the 42 analysts who cover the stock, 37 rate it a buy or strong buy, and none recommend selling. That backdrop makes it all the more notable that, during the third quarter, Griffin sold more than 3.1 million shares of Broadcom -- roughly 64% of Citadel's stake in it. He still holds 1.72 million shares worth about $296 million. At the same time, he was buying another AI stock -- Nvidia ( NVDA -3.22% ) . Want chips with that? It's clear Griffin thought Nvidia represented a compelling opportunity last quarter. The billionaire investor increased Citadel's stake by more than 7 million shares, an increase of 454%. That brought his total stake to 712 million shares worth $865 million. Among the thousands of stocks in Citadel's portfolio, Nvidia is the second-largest individual stock holding. Nvidia has been the poster child for the AI revolution, as its graphics processing units (GPUs) are the most-used hardware for providing the computational horsepower needed to train and run AI models. This has caused a run on the company's state-of-the-art processors, which have become the gold standard for data centers, where most AI processing takes place. The unprecedented demand has had an unmistakable impact on Nvidia's financial results. During its fiscal 2025 third quarter, which ended Oct. 27, Nvidia's revenue soared 94% year over year to $35 billion, while its adjusted EPS surged 103% to $0.81. Management left no doubt about what drove the results. "The age of AI is in full steam, propelling a global shift to Nvidia computing," said CEO Jensen Huang. Those results help explain why Nvidia stock is up 196% over the past year and 342% over the past three years (as of this writing). The company's unbridled success led management to initiate a 10-for-1 stock split, which was completed on June 10. Broadcom isn't the only AI stock-split stock that Wall Street is nearly unanimous about. Of the 64 analysts who have offered an opinion on Nvidia, 60 rate the stock a buy or strong buy, and none recommend selling. We don't know exactly when during the third quarter that Griffin added to his stake in Nvidia, but a quick look at the stock chart might provide some insight. In mid-June, rumors about a potential delay in the release of the company's highly anticipated Blackwell processors sent the stock tumbling, and by early August, Nvidia had shed 27% of its value. Griffin likely saw a bargain he couldn't resist. It turns out that Griffin probably didn't know something that Wall Street doesn't. He simply saw a compelling opportunity, and he took it. Should retail investors follow his lead now? Nvidia stock currently trades for 69 times earnings, but that P/E metric doesn't take into account the company's above-average growth. Wall Street is predicting Nvidia will generate EPS of $4.36 in its fiscal 2026, which will begin in late January. That gives it a valuation of about 34 times forward earnings. While that's certainly still a premium price, Nvidia is guiding for year-over-year revenue growth of 70% in the current quarter, with a commensurate uptick in profits, and Wall Street is predicting sales growth of 49% next year. Given the company's critical place in the AI revolution and its robust prospects, I am completely convinced that Nvidia stock is still a buy .Stage set for Al Shaqab International Showjumping League opening round

Abortion has become slightly more common despite bans or deep restrictions in most Republican-controlled states, and the legal and political fights over its future are not over yet. It's now been two and a half years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and opened the door for states to implement bans. The policies and their impact have been in flux ever since the ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. Here's a look at data on where things stand: Overturning Roe and enforcing abortion bans has changed how woman obtain abortions in the U.S. But one thing it hasn't done is put a dent in the number of abortions being obtained. There have been slightly more monthly abortions across the country recently than there were in the months leading up to the June 2022 ruling, even as the number in states with bans dropped to near zero. “Abortion bans don’t actually prevent abortions from happening,” said Ushma Upadhyay, a public health social scientist at the University of California San Francisco. But, she said, they do change care. For women in some states, there are major obstacles to getting abortions — and advocates say that low-income, minority and immigrant women are least likely to be able to get them when they want. For those living in states with bans, the ways to access abortion are through travel or abortion pills. As the bans swept in, abortion pills became a bigger part of the equation. They were involved in about half the abortions before Dobbs. More recently, it’s been closer to two-thirds of them, by the Guttmacher Institute. The uptick of that kind of abortion, usually involving a combination of two drugs, was underway before the ruling. But now, it's become more common for pill prescriptions to be made by telehealth. By the summer of 2024, about 1 in 10 abortions was via pills prescribed via telehealth to patients in states where abortion is banned. As a result, the pills are now at the center of battles over abortion access. This month, for prescribing pills to a Texas woman via telemedicine. There's also an effort by Idaho, Kansas and Missouri to and treat them as and a push for the federal government to start enforcing a to ban mailing them. Clinics have closed or halted abortions in states with bans. But a network of efforts to get women seeking abortions to places where they're legal has strengthened and travel for abortion is now common. The Guttmacher Institute found that more than twice as many Texas residents obtained abortion in 2023 in New Mexico as New Mexico residents did. And as many Texans received them in Kansas as Kansans. Abortion funds, which benefitted from in 2022, have helped pay the costs for many abortion-seekers. But some funds have had to . Since the downfall of Roe, the actions of lawmakers and courts have kept shifting where abortion is legal and under what conditions. Here's where it stands now: Florida, the nation’s third most-populous state, on abortions after the first six weeks of pregnancy on May 1. That immediately changed the state from one that was a refuge for other Southerners seeking abortion to an exporter of people looking for them. There were about there in May compared with the average for the first three months of the year. And in June, there were 35% fewer. While the ban is not unique, the impact is especially large. The average driving time from Florida to a facility in North Carolina where abortion is available for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is more than nine hours, according to data maintained by Caitlin Myers, a Middlebury College economics professor. The bans have meant clinics closed or stopped offering abortions in some states. But some states where abortion remains legal until viability – generally considered to be , though there’s no fixed time for it – have seen . Illinois, Kansas and New Mexico are among the states with new clinics. There were 799 publicly identifiable abortion providers in the U.S. in May 2022, the month before the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade. And by this November, it was 792, according to a tally by Myers, who is collecting data on abortion providers. But Myers says some hospitals that always provided some abortions have begun advertising it. So they’re now in the count of clinics – even though they might provide few of them. How hospitals handle , especially those that threaten the lives of the women, has emerged as a major issue since Roe was overturned. President Joe Biden's administration says hospitals must offer abortions when they're needed to prevent organ loss, hemorrhage or deadly infections, even in states with bans. Texas is challenging the administration’s policy and the this year declined to take it up after the Biden administration sued Idaho. More than 100 pregnant women seeking help in emergency rooms and were left unstable since 2022, The Associated Press found in an analysis of federal hospital investigative records. Among the complaints were a woman who of Texas emergency room after staff refused to see her and a woman who gave birth in a car after a North Carolina hospital couldn't offer an ultrasound. The baby later died. “It is increasingly less safe to be pregnant and seeking emergency care in an emergency department,” Dara Kass, an emergency medicine doctor and former U.S. Health and Human Services official told the AP earlier this year. Since Roe was overturned, there have been 18 reproductive rights-related statewide ballot questions. Abortion rights advocates have prevailed on 14 of them and lost on four. In the , they amended the constitutions in five states to add the right to abortion. Such measures failed in three states: In Florida, where it required 60% support; in Nebraska, which had competing abortion ballot measures; and in South Dakota, where most national abortion rights groups did support the measure. AP VoteCast data found that more than three-fifths of voters in 2024 supported abortion being legal in all or most cases – a slight uptick from 2020. The support came even as voters supported Republicans to control the White House and both houses of Congress. Associated Press writers Linley Sanders, Amanda Seitz and Laura Ungar contributed to this article.

Brooklyn Rae Silzer has broken her silence on her “General Hospital” exit. The actress, 18, played the character Emma Drake for 13 years before being replaced by Braedyn Bruner, 24. In a social media post shared Monday, the same day Bruner took over the role of Emma on “GH,” Silzer wrote that she is “forever grateful” that she got to work on the daytime series. “A little note to my @GeneralHospital family and fans who have loved me over the years ❤️ B xoxo,” she captioned the post. “To my amazing General Hospital family who have supported me and watched me grow up over the years as Emma I am forever grateful.” “Although sad my time as Emma has come to an end I will cherish all of my memories and friendships made. I am so lucky to have been casted as Emma 13 years ago and to have had the opportunity to grow her character over the years,” she went on. “I am so excited to see how Braedyn takes care of Emma and bring new layers to her character. I am forever thankful for General Hospital and Emma will always hold a special place in my heart,” Silzer wrote Just 5 years old when she began her run as Emma in 2011, Silzer was a series regular on “General Hospital” until 2016. She continued to appear on the show as a guest star over the past eight years. Many of Silzer’s fans responded to her post expressing how much they will miss her and tried to decipher whether she made the decision to end her run on the series. “Brooklyn, I enjoyed watching you as Emma for all these years,” one fan commented. “You are a shining star! You will always be remembered as Emma. Much love and luck in all your future endeavors. You will be missed ❤️.” Another wrote, “You ARE Emma to us. I’m hoping this was your choice. If so best of everything to you in your future.” “Loved watching you grow up on G.H.,” one person shared, adding, “wish you all the best! Like [said] before I hope this was your decision.” Several regular cast members of “General Hospital” have left the soap in 2024, including Michael Easton , Kelly Monaco and Chad Duell. Easton appeared on over 940 episodes of “GH” across 10 years and revealed in June his time on the show was ending. “I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye,” he said a video posted on Instagram . “That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.” “I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here,” Easton added. “I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family.” “I won’t ever forget you. And as I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth,” he added. In October, Monaco said farewell to her role as Sam McCall on “General Hospital” after 21 years. Monaco later suggested that her exit wasn’t her decision. “‘No primary role’.. do your homework. When Billy Miller was fired, Sam’s storyline stopped. Stripping Sam of every characteristic she had,” the star wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post on Soap Hub. “Something I worked for decades to build... Slowly dismantling her, into a character that I did not recognize, let alone the audience. Call it what you will... retaliation at it [sic] finest. I will give a proper statement. The truth will set you free.”
